About Dr. Jyotsna Oak
Dr. Jyotsna Oak handles two specialties - Internal Medicine & Rheumatology at Kokilaben Hospital.
Dr. Jyotsna Oak had her entire medical training at the Grant Medical College and J. J. Group of Hospitals in Mumbai. After completing the MD degree in General Medicine, she worked as a lecturer and then as Associate Professor at KEM hospital, Mumbai. Subsequently, she joined Sion Hospital as Head, Rheumatology & Professor- Medicine.
Over 25 years of experience in Clinical Medicine and Rheumatology in leading public hospitals such as KEM Hospital, and LTMG Hospital, Sion in Mumbai. Dr. Oak was formerly Professor in Medicine and Rheumatology at the LTM Medical College & LTMG Hospital, Sion- Mumbai.
After joining Kokilaben Hospital in 2008, she has made a large contribution to making the Rheumatology Clinic one of the very busy ones in the Hospital. She treats around 6000 patients at Kokilaben Hospital annually. These include patients having Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, SLE, Scleroderma, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Vasculitis, Polymyositis & Juvenile Chronic Arthritis.
She is also a part of the Clinical Research Team, handling a number of International and National Clinical Trials on Biologics and new drugs in Rheumatoid Arthritis, SLE, Osteoporosis and Vasculitis. She has participated as a Principal Investigator in a number of national and international Clinical Trials.
In recent years, she has been an Invited Speaker at various International Forums, on topics dealing with TNF alpha-blockers, Fibromyalgia and Lupus Nephritis.
Dr. Jyotsna Oak was awarded the prestigious Fellowship by the Japanese Rheumatology Association. She was also awarded the Best Teacher’s award by the Indian medical association. A prolific Researcher, Dr. Oak has presented the results of her studies in a number of National and International Conferences and Seminars.
