About Dr. Barnali Das 
Dr. Barnali Das is the technical committee member in the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry & Laboratory Medicine's (IFCC's) six members Committee on Standardization of Thyroid Functions Tests (C-STFT) worldwide and the corresponding Member for IFCC Committee for Reference Interval & Decision Limit (IFCC C-RIDL). She is the only Asian member in the IFCC C-STFT. She is the National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL) Assessor and College of American Pathologist (CAP) Inspector. She is also the Joint Secretary of Consortium of Accredited Health Care Organization (CAHO). Dr. Barnali Das has done her M.B.B.S. from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi and MD and DNB (Biochemistry) from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. Subsequently, she has done management development training from IIT Bombay, and also pursued courses in Clinical Trial and PGDM in Hospital & Health Care Management. She has done Green Belt (Six Sigma) from Indian Statistical Institute. She has also completed courses in Quality Management, such as College of American Pathologist's comprehensive Team Leader Study; ISO 15189, 2012 and many others. Dr. Barnali is the recipient of two oration awards and seven international and five national awards & grants from the American Association of Clinical Chemistry, International Federation of Clinical Chemistry & Laboratory Medicine, Asia Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry, Reliance Group Corporate Social Responsibility (The Woman of Substance Award), Association of Clinical Biochemists of India, Association of Medical Biochemists of India. Dr. Barnali has many publications in high impact factor international journals & national journals (recent ones are European Thyroid Journal, Clinical Biochemistry, etc). She has delivered 92 invited talks & plenary lectures; 2 orations and chaired 37 sessions in conferences in different countries. She has authored one book and contributed many articles & views in magazines and newspapers (Times of India first page, Hindustan Times, Express Health Care, CLN News, etc.). For the last few years, she is invited to conduct an American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) short course on "Lean Six Sigma" AACC annual meeting in the US (Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia in 2016 and Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta in 2015). Her short course was highlighted by CLN News, US. Dr. Barnali was the organizing secretary of 2 international conferences under the auspices of IFCC in 2014 & 2015 and the International conclave on TQM in 2012 in Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai. She has also organized 8 national conferences & seminars. As a member of the IFCC Committee on Standardization of Thyroid Function Test (C-STFT), she has conducted a free thyroid screening camp in Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai for many years. Her work was highlighted in the prestigious newspaper Times of India on the occasion of World Thyroid Day. She is invited as a reviewer for Clinical Biochemistry (Elsevier ), Clinical Chemistry (Elsevier), Indian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Indian Journal of Community Medicine. Prior to joining Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute, Dr. Das was supervising Biochemistry and RIA Chemiluminescense divisions of SRL Ranbaxy, Mumbai. Earlier she was a lecturer in TNMC & Nair Hospital, Mumbai and Senior Resident in MAMC and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. Through her research, she has proposed a novel index on coronary artery disease named Lipid Pentad Index (LPI), which was published in high impact international journals and highlighted in many newspapers & newsletters and acclaimed by the International Atherosclerosis Society & American Association of Clinical Chemistry.
